Sulfuric acid burn on my hand.?

i splashed a bit of concentrated sulfuric acid on the back of my hand and didn't notice for a few seconds until it started to burn. i washed it off but it was on there for a good 20 seconds or so. it went white and i've lost sensation to the skin. the area is only about a cm wide, is it that serious?
