How to find genotypes for parents if you know your phenotype?

It kind of depends on your parents' phenotypes. If you show trait E, then your genotype must be either EE or Ee. If one of your parents shows e, then you are Ee and that parent is ee. If both parents show E then you can't really tell unless you have some siblings with different traits. hope that wasn't too confusing :/
